V Day Celebration

16 02 2008

For Valentine’s Day, my husband and I decided to forgo the gift giving and instead had a romantic dinner at Jim’s Bistro in Peoria Heights on Saturday night.

Friends introduced us to the wonderful dining experience that is Jim’s Bistro over the summer. We have returned several times.

I have not made it past the entrée I ordered during my first visit to Jim’s. The Yankee pot roast is so good that I have not had a need to try anything else. It comes with garlic mashed potatoes and vegetables. Carrots, celery and onions are the perfect accompaniment to the pot roast.

My husband has been more adventurous during our visits to Jim’s. He tries something different during every visit, and has not been disappointed yet. This time it was the chicken and ribs combo. There was a tremendous amount of food on his plate. Although he usually eats like a bird, he cleaned his plate.

All of the entrees come with bread and a salad. The salad is artfully arranged and tastes great. I had the French dressing and really liked it.

The atmosphere at Jim’s is great. It can be a romantic venue or a place to spend time with good friends.

Our meals, one diet soda, tax and tip came to $48.00.

If you have not yet been to Jim’s Bistro, take your sweetie.
