We closed on our former home Thursday. It was one of the most euphoric moments in my life, very similar to being on mind-altering drugs. I am so glad to be free of it. It is nice not to have to worry about anything happening to it – like vagrants moving in, people spraypainting on it, kids breaking down the fence to get to the neighbor’s yard to steal bikes, etc…

Now I live in a neighborhood where my largest concern is that the Neighborhood Association puts things in mailboxes without postage – doesn’t everyone know that is compromising the sanctity of the mail – nobody but the boxowner and the letter carrier are supposed to get into the mailbox??!!

Ah, these are trying times…
